Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore

An extremely challenging and rewarding project for us, creating a landscape masterplan for child and adult patients with severe spinal injuries. Our proposals formed part of the bid by Bouygues alongside Hopkins Architects for a major new extension to the hospital.

Our strategy was geared towards creating and harnessing a ‘Journey of Discovery and Recovery’. This journey starts with the bedroom, leading out into the therapeutic gardens and the wider woodland landscape beyond.  Along this an ever increasing number of ‘magic moments’ can be achieved by patients as they get stronger and can be further challenged.

Client: Bouygues

Scope + Status: Design stages for the Bid Submission

Consultants: Hopkins Architects
