Ancient Market Place Kingston

A Design Guide to enhance the historic market; evoking the spirit of the past: capturing the experience of generations of traders with the sounds and smells of their ware, and all the other bygone activities of stage coaches, women of the night, ….

The Guide which focused on paving, furniture, lighting and wayfinding has now been turned into reality. The historic space with its adjacent lanes have been given a new carpet and contemporary market stalls, fit for use in the twenty first century.

Awards: Mayors 100 Great Spaces; Landscape Institute Award
