A hard open flexible piazza for the creative types to use and be all creative in, and a lush riverside park for the new residents to enjoy playing in, the public realm offers many things for many people.
Responding to the contrasting character of its context: the river and its historical industrial uses – the landscape design balances hard edginess with flowing organic features. The resulting built scheme provides an apron for the award winning Granary building which has become an iconic landmark feature on the edge of Barking town centre.
