A naturalistic-industrial park weaving through a major residential masterplan on the edge of Harrow. Outerspace are the lead landscape architects for the regeneration of 22 hectares of industrial land, with the first phase for 460 new homes securing Reserved Matters permission.
This exiting phase includes focusses upon a linear park through the centre of the masterplan. Our design philosophy combines and fuses the contrasting influences of the flowing organic indigenous landscape with the hard geometry of the industrial past. In detail this translates to the use of concrete elements forming part of the play strategy, superimposed over a network of woodland pockets, a meadow and a stream (for SUDs). The iconic Kodak chimney is retained as part of a new energy centre that will also include extensive community activity.
The landscape scheme also includes a range of communal gardens and streetscapes around the housing element.
