The external space forms the focus to this new three-form-entry primary school in an urban location in Ilford. The design pays homage to Sir Isaac Newton with a series of circular sub spaces representing his theory of relativity: translated into learn, socialising and play.
The external space forms an enriching, inspiring and fun environment, combining naturalistic and ecological planting with surfacing of colour and creativity. The nursery and primary school pupils use the landscape in every way we envisaged, together with a whole range of other ways that only their imaginations allow.
